Dr William Alazawi is a London-based Consultant Hepatologist and Reader in Liver Medicine. He sees private patients at The London Bridge and Sloane Hospitals and at the London Digestive Centre, Princess Grace Hospital.

His main interests are abnormal liver tests, fatty liver disease, viral hepatitis and endoscopy.

Gabriel Sandblom is associate professor and senior consultant at the center for Digestive Diseases, Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge. He has experience from upper abdominal surgery and is presently working at the unit of acute abdominal wall surgery. He is the board member of the Swedish Register for gallstone surgery (GallRiks), Swedish Hernia Register (SHR), Swedish society for Innovative Surgical Technology (SIKT) and committee for clinical Research of the Swedish Surgical Society (KKF).

His research is mainly focused on abdominal wall surgery, acute pancreatitis and gall stone surgery.

Higinio Mappala is distinguished physician and gifted medical researcher with 30 years of clinical experience, as well as a prolific communicator and lecturer in both academic and clinical fora. A board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine with board-certified subspecialties in Gastroenterology, Endoscopy, Clinical Toxicology and Pharmacology, and Nutrition. Higinio Mappala is a University Professor and Former Dean of the School of Medicine, St. Paul University, Manilla, Philippines. Higinio Mappala is speaker and author of more than 50 scientific papers. He graduated at University of Santo Tomas (UST), College of Medicine. He is the member of Hepatology Society of the Philippines and Philippine Society of Enteral/Parenteral Nutrition. He has published numerous research papers and articles in reputed journals and has extended his valuable service towards the scientific community with his extensive research work. He is a natural leader, confident and articulate, a productive and prolific lecturer.

Gouda Ellabban is currently Professor of Surgery. His PhD is from the University of Birmingham UK in Hepatobiliary Surgery. He previously served as Head of the Emergency medicine Department at Suez Canal University Hospital. Ellabban brings experiences from various fields such as Hepatobiliary Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery and Emergency medicine. In his capacity in Hepatobiliary Surgery, he served as a head of Laparoscopic Unit. He served as a member in a major international project funded by the European Commission in Medical Informatics. Throughout his career, Ellabban has published many research studies in international journals and conferences. Part of his professional service is reviewing manuscripts and proposals for international journals with high impact factors, in addition to coordinating many conferences of Surgery and Laparoscopy. His main research interests are Hepatobiliary and Laparoscopic Surgery. His work at the SCU Hospital involves teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students and training postgraduates on operative maneuvers.

Dr. Vito Annese achieved his MD in 1981 and subsequently the CCST in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the Catholic University of Rome Italy. He has over 30-years of experience in gastroenterology, with specific interest in functional and inflammatory bowel disorders. He authored more than 250 peer reviewed publications. In the last 10-years he has been head of Gastroenterology at the Research Hospital of S. Giovanni Rotondo and at the University Hospital Careggi of Florence and aggregate professor at the University of Foggia and Florence in Italy. Since September 2016 is Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Valiant Clinic of Dubai.

Bruce D Given has served as COO of Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals since 2011. He has retired as Chairman of the Board for ICON, plc in 2013. He was with Johnson & Johnson for 9 years, with assignments including President, International, Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics and Head of US Marketing & Sales and Research & Development for Janssen Pharmaceutical. He has received his MD with honors from the University of Chicago, completed his Medical Training at University of Chicago and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he was Clinical Fellow at Harvard Medical School and was on the medical faculty at University of Chicago.
